News Briefs:

April 1, 2008: Your Mission: Go see Inventing van Gogh at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. We're hoping to go see it over the coming weekend.

April 1, 2008: Wish him luck. We just received notice that Frank's collar for the invisibile electric fence at Tara and Jim's has arrived and Rosie is going to make flags for the boundaries. Keep him in your thoughts as he heads for boot camp in the next week or so.

April 1, 2008: April Fools. After a brief hiatus from the website, we've found some time and energy for updates. Shannon has a new medical oncologist who was leaning towards a different diagnosis but further testing proved the original diagnosis stands. More news to follow on scans and treatments pending this week and next.

January 7, 2008: More Scans...Off to an MRI today and three CT scans tomorrow morning. Then an MRI Thursday in Boston for the Gamma Knife follow up. On the 10th is a round table meeting with all of Shannon's doctors, including Dr. Ryan from Boston. We then go back to see Dr.Casey on the 14th to be filled in on all the activities of this week.

January 1, 2008: Happy New Year. We had a fantastic New Year's Eve laughing with Shannon's family over the Reduced Shakespeare Company and attended the traditional O'Keefe-Hoeck New Year's Day Party on the first. What a great way to start off 2008!

December 24, 2007: Christmas in Cotuit. We celebrated Christmas Eve and Day with with Shannon's family in Cotuit. Even Frankie got to come stay over and play with Coco.

December 19, 2007: Scans and Radiation. Got to see Dr. Herrick last minute due to Shannon having some bone pain and she had scans done which found new cancer in the left shoulder and left hip which were both radiated the same day. Quite a whirlwind day that could have stretched out to five or ten trips to Hyannis so big thanks to Dr. Herrick.

December 8, 2007: We Got Married. It was a day to remember and one we wanted to do over again as soon as it was over. So many wonderful people came together quickly to make this happen for us that we still can't believe we pulled it off. Pictures are up online in Shannon's gallery of the ceremony, reception and honeymoon in the White Mountains.

November 2, 2007: Treat, Scan and Plan. Besides treatment on Monday, Shannon had a CAT scan on Tuesday and saw Dr. Herrick today for a planning session to radiate her left scapula next week. The scan showed the cancer holding steady or retreating in most places but beginning to advance in the lungs. Dr.Casey told us he may change her chemotherapy regimen in December and is consulting with Dr. Ryan at Dana Farber in Boston.
